Analyzing Student Work to Determine Effective Instructional Next Steps

Class Description & Purpose:

This session is designed to provide participants a brief process for considering “why” looking at student work is an important component of an educator’s practice.  The session then provides participants several dialogues or protocols aligned to different purposes, for engaging in conversations and reviewing student work with colleagues.

Outcomes:
  • Participants will be able to analyze student work (as data and information) to plan and implement instructional next steps.

Takeaway(s):

Participants will identify an action plan related to their next instructional steps for an upcoming unit.

Class Level:  

Introductory - Getting started in an area, examples of possible entry points for implementation, foundational components of a practice/strategy, or big picture thinking around a practice/strategy.
