MATH: Effective Math Teaching Practices
Class Description & Purpose:
In this class, participants will explore the Effective Math Teaching Practices, as identified by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Participants will identify major concepts and skills, based on the Colorado Academic Standards, related to their grade level. Finally, participants will explore resources to integrate effective math teaching practices into their daily math instruction.
Outcomes:

Analyze effective math teaching practices.

Analyze major concepts of your grade level’s math curriculum.
Takeaway(s):
Create a bank of effective math teaching strategies aligned to the effective math teaching practices.
Class Level:
Introductory  Getting started in an area, examples of possible entry points for implementation, foundational components of a practice/strategy, or big picture thinking around a practice/strategy.
