Class Description & Purpose:
Research confirms the brain “sees” information both in imagery and linguistic forms. How can teachers leverage the use of concept mapping and brainstorming for effective instruction?
Purpose: To explore alternative ways to bridge information to the learner through non-linguistic representations.
- Identify the different types of non-linguistic instructional techniques.
- Create multiple opportunities for students to interact with new knowledge using non-linguistic and kinesthetic strategies and tools
- Combine non-linguistic and kinesthetic strategies with other learning strategies
Build a lesson plan that integrates a tech tool using a non-linguistic feature.
Refined - Practices/strategies at a deeper level of implementation. These classes may offer a new way of thinking and inspiration to implement practices and strategies to refine teaching and learning.
