Class Description & Purpose:

What foundational aspects of curriculum and instruction need to be in place as you consider personalizing instruction? Once these items are in place, how can you begin to release some of your workload to students, giving them ownership of their own learning? In this class, learn how to balance solid instruction and opportunities for student ownership and empowerment.

Outcomes:

In this class, participants will consider how to balance quality instruction and personalized learning

  • Identify the practices they are not willing to let go of and why these are important

  • Analyze research regarding quality instruction and practices which must be in place in order for Personalized Learning to further enhance instruction

  • Evaluate themselves in their understanding of and strength in WHAT they teach and HOW they teach

  • Integrate Personalized Learning into their foundation of quality instruction to further engage students and increase learning
